The safe operation of cranes continues to be a major concern in Ontario. In the past few years, there have been a number of serious incidents and close calls in crane operations.
A log book is required for all cranes or similar hoisting devices used at a construction project. This log book serves as a permanent record of all inspections, tests, repairs, modifications, and maintenance performed on the crane as required by O. Reg. 213/91, s. 152.
IHSA's Tower Crane Log Book contains daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspection checklists of tower crane components as well as a log for identifying any problems and recording any repairs/maintenance that have been completed. White tear-out sheets (two for each month) are retained for office records and yellow duplicates are kept in the log book, which remain with the crane. Each log book contains 12 sets of report forms. 8½" x 11". 2024 version.
