Workplace Hazards: Identification, Assessment and Control (E-learning)

Program Description

Workplace Hazards: Identification, Assessment and Control is designed for workplaces that must adhere to provincial/territorial occupational health and safety (OHS) laws and regulations. The course describes workplace hazards, the health and safety risks posed by those hazards, and the step-by-step process which must be followed in order to identify, assess and control hazards in the workplace.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Know that identifying and dealing with workplace hazards is required by law
  • Define the terms workplace hazard, health hazard, safety hazard, adverse health effect and risk
  • Identify and explain the steps involved in the workplace risk assessment process
  • Understand “the hierarchy of control” as it applies to workplace hazards
  • Define and differentiate between engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE
  • Recognize the importance of risk assessment monitoring and review
  • List the required written documentation pertaining to the risk assessment process

Evaluation Process

At the end of the course, participants must complete a multiple choice test. Participants that do not achieve 100% can review the course content and re-take the test until the desired result (100%) is achieved. Test questions are randomly selected from a test bank, making each testing experience unique.

Upon successfully completing all modules, there is a printable certificate for your records.
