The Working Mind For The Trades - Worker

Program Description

The Working Mind (TWM) for the Trades – Worker is an evidence-based training program developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada and adapted by IHSA for Ontario’s trades sectors. This course helps workers understand mental health, reduce stigma, and build resilience to thrive in demanding work environments.

Through interactive discussions, real-life scenarios, and practical tools, participants will learn how to recognize changes in mental health, manage stress effectively, and support themselves and their peers.

Program Content

  • Module 1: Mental Health and Stigma
  • Module 2: Mental Health Continuum Tool
  • Module 3: Stress and Resilience

Includes videos featuring lived experiences, group discussions, and hands-on activities.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Who Should Attend?

Workers in construction, electrical, utilities, transportation, and related trades.

  • Understand mental health and mental illness as a continuum.
  • Recognize signs of good, declining, and poor mental health in yourself and others.
  • Identify and reduce stigma and barriers to care.
  • Apply the Mental Health Continuum Tool to monitor well-being.
