Program Description
Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation highly recommends the development of a fleet safety program to address matters relating to the safe operation of commercial motor vehicles. In-Cab Evaluations are useful for determining the skill and safety performance of professional drivers. All areas of driving a commercial vehicle are evaluated, including pre-trip inspection and driving and backing-up skills.
Professional driver evaluators need to assess on-road safety performance and ensure employees have the correct observation and driving skills for their prospective roles. They also need to be able to gauge their employee’s willingness to improve defensive driving habits and accept recommendations.
This comprehensive two-day workshop was created to help professional driver trainers build their skills to conduct effective In-Cab Evaluations.
In a classroom environment, participants will be presented with theory, in-class assignments, and in-group activities that allow opportunities to discuss and build on industry best practices in professional driver evaluations and assessment.
NOTE
Please note that this is an IN-CLASS program and is NOT conducted in a vehicle on the road.
