Did You Know?

Due to the implementation of the 2014 JHSC Certification training program standard, the CHSR home study course can no longer lead to certification after March 1, 2016. However, IHSA will continue to offer this home-study product along with an in-class test as a stand-alone training program to provide knowledge and education after March 1, 2016.

Those who are taking a CHSR home study course in order to become certified must complete the exercises and pass an in-class exam before March 1, 2016. Otherwise, they must take JHSC Certification—Part One after March 1, 2016 to achieve Part 1 certification.

After completing the CHSR home-study course before March 1, participants must take Sector-Specific and Simulated Hazard Analysis before March 1 or the JHSC Certification —Part Two (Construction) after March 1 to become Certified Members.

There is no impact to the Construction Health and Safety—Basic home study course because it does not lead to certification now or after March 1, 2016.

This Review and Exam is limited to participants who have completed the Construction Health and Safety Rep - Home Study program.
