Program Description
This hands-on program provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to consistently produce top-quality terminations and splices using the most current equipment and procedures.

Applicable safety rules and regulations

Extruded shielded primary cable design and construction

Cable preparation

Review of splicing and terminating concepts, methods, and components

Monitored hands-on splicing and terminating exercises
Who Should Attend?
Personnel involved in the installation, splicing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, or purchasing of primary cable and associated componentry.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Personal protective equipment / What to Bring
Participants are required to bring their own CSA-approved head, eye, and foot protection, leather work gloves, traffic vest, clothing suitable for outside work, and personal hand tools. The participant will not be permitted to participate in the course if they do not bring the noted personal protective equipment and tools.
Learning Evaluation
There is a final knowledge evaluation at the completion of the course.
Participant Course Evaluation
At the end of the training, participants will have the opportunity to evaluate and provide comments about the training they received.
NOTE
Delivery of this program at your facility will require a suitable space to complete the practical portion of the program as well as the required equipment. Please check with your IHSA Consultant/Trainer for specific requirements.
