Construction project owners may now be legally responsible to act as both an owner and an employer.

The decision, issued November 10, 2023, by the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC), increases the legal risk of construction project owners for noncompliance with health and safety legislation on their worksites.

Electrical Utility Safety Rules: Significant changes coming in 2024

IHSA announces modest price increases for some health and safety products and services

Effective April 1, 2024, IHSA will be increasing the price of some of its programs and services. Among the offerings impacted by the change are single-participant registration fees for certain in-class training courses as well as the daily rate for IHSA trainers and consultants to deliver services at member facilities.

Silica Control Tool for the construction industry coming to Ontario Nov. 3

Beginning Nov. 3, workers and employers in Ontario's construction industry will be able to access the Silica Control Tool, its associated data, and outputs. Originally developed by the British Columbia Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA), the tool has been fully customized to meet Ontario's occupational health and safety standards.
