On this day, we remember and honour those who have died, suffered an injury, or been stricken by illness at work or due to their work. We also recognize countless others—each worker’s family, friends, and communities—who must also endure the lasting effects of workplace incidents.

Construction buyers assemble to learn about occupational health and safety management systems

On March 27, 2024, IHSA welcomed more than 75 representatives of some of Ontario’s large buyers of construction, including municipalities and crown corporations, to a forum on how occupational health and safety management systems can help manage risk at their projects. A number of industry experts offered advice on topics such as project owners' duties following the R. v. Greater Sudbury court decision and implementing an OHSMS requirement for contractors.
