Fatality Notice: IHSA has learned of two separate fatalities this week: One involved a millwright and the other a utility employee. One workplace fatality in any year is one too many, regardless of the sector, industry, or occupation. Please pause all work for a safety moment and re-establish a commitment to the prevention of injuries, illnesses, and fatalities.

IHSA’s Road Safety Solutions

IHSA has launched a new promotional campaign to enhance the reach of IHSA’s road safety message across Ontario. While truck drivers continue their vital work as essential workers during the Coronavirus pandemic, the General Trucking sector continues to face a high number of fatalities, critical injuries, lost-time, and stress-related claims. IHSA is working hard to provide education solutions that can assist workers and employers to prevent these incidents.

Distracted driving among other drivers has been identified as the top safety concern among truck drivers in Ontario. The campaign focuses on preventing distracted driving through awareness and education that IHSA.ca provides in the form of no-cost resources, including digital toolkits and eLearning.
