Product ID: HSRBTE
NOTE

An HSR is required in workplaces at which between 6 and 19 workers are regularly employed.

Program Description

The purpose of the program is to help participants fulfil their responsibilities as a Health and Safety Representative (HSR), and to be an effective role model in the workplace protecting co-workers through the promotion of health and safety.

This program covers the basic fundamentals of workplace health and safety with a focus on HSR responsibilities and duties, legal requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), hazard recognition and control, and workplace inspection and investigation. Links to useful resources are also provided.

This is a starting point for HSRs to begin their training in health and safety. IHSA can provide suggestions for supplemental training to further a robust health and safety knowledge base.
