When it comes to improving health and safety at your workplace, it never hurts to ask for help.

Developing an occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) with the COR® standard is a straightforward process. But it also touches on all aspects of your business. It’s only natural that you’ll have questions along the way—and you can trust a COR® Associate Consultant to answer them.

Finding success with expert support

The COR® Associate Consultant network is the latest collaboration between IHSA and its partners in Ontario’s workplace health and safety sector. It builds on the success of similar work with COR® Associate Auditors, working at heights training contractors, Indigenous Line Crew Ground Support program stakeholders, and other partners.

The initiative gives IHSA members working toward COR® certification a new way to access support at all stages of their journey. By making more support available, it also ensures that more companies—no matter their size or scope of work—can participate in the COR® certification process with confidence.

COR® Associate Consultants are experienced independent health and safety professionals:

They can support your organization wherever you are in the certification process. If you’re just starting out, a COR® Associate Consultant can conduct a gap analysis to identify your health and safety strengths and weaknesses. Later, they can provide advice on how to build a COR®- aligned OHSMS manual that formalizes your policies and procedures or meet the documentation requirements in your daily business practices. They can also provide support, such as prep sessions and mock audits, before your COR® internal or external audit.

Unlocking the benefits of COR®

Having an OHSMS that meets the COR® standard is a proven way to reduce incidents and injuries at your workplace. Research shows that COR®-certified companies in Ontario have 28 per cent fewer lost-time injuries compared to those that are not COR® certified.

By working with a COR® Associate Consultant, your organization gains a trusted partner whose expertise can help you optimize your OHSMS, get all the benefits of achieving COR®, and stay confidently on track every step of the way.
