In October, IHSA trained 4,110 people in 518 classes. Another 1,386 people took an IHSA eLearning course. So far in 2024, IHSA has trained a total of 37,823 people in 5,855 classes, plus 42,746 people through eLearning.

O. Reg. 213/91 - Construction Projects Amendments - Hygiene & PPE

Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) has announced amendments to O. Reg. 213/91 – Construction Projects, made under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). These amendments will address the fit of personal protective clothing and equipment and requirements for toilet and clean-up facilities and will come into effect on July 1, 2023.

The eLaws version of the Construction Projects regulation incorporates the future changes to the following sections 21, 29, 29.1 and 29.2. These changes are highlighted in grey.

Requirements for Naloxone Kits & Training

The Ontario government just published a news release announcing workplace requirements for naloxone kits and training. On June 1, 2023, at-risk employers will be required by legislation to ensure their workplaces have life-saving naloxone kits and workers are trained on how to use them.
