IHSA has unique expertise and capability in managing the hazards of high-risk activities. IHSA's training courses are developed and delivered by subject matter experts, who have experience working in these industries. Trainers, both internal and external, must acquire specified competencies before being allowed to deliver our high-risk training programs. For example, in order to deliver IHSA's Working at Heights training, all trainers must have at least five years of industry experience (working at heights), must successfully complete IHSA's three-day Principles of Effective Training workshop, and must complete IHSA's Competency Survey.
IHSA offers over 75 training courses, ranging from general awareness courses to highly technical hands-on instruction for high-risk activities. IHSA's sector-specific training courses are recognized by our industries as the standard. Many of the courses were developed in collaboration with representatives from those industries. We have the facilities to support your hands-on, skills-based training needs. Our field staff is distributed across the province to ensure that our programs are available when and where you need them. The following is a list of some of the high-risk training programs that IHSA offers. For a complete listing of all training by area, by course title, or by city, visit the training section.
